More About

Brietta

Brietta was born in Shelby County,Tennessee and moved to Horn Lake, Mississippi at the age of five. She is the last of seven and she draws her inspiration to entertain from one of her older sisters, Marcova Goodman. Marcova has Down-Syndrome and has been cared for by Brietta throughout her school years. Assisting in her care taught Brietta patience, learning to sacrifice, adapting, caring for others, and collaborating. Brietta began performing in the Horn Lake Choirs from 5th grade up until her high school graduation. During her high school years, she toured with the Mixed and Chamber Choir to Hattiesburg, North Carolina, Georgia, New Orleans, and South Carolina. She briefly was apart of the Horn Lake High Drama Club as acting Vice President and Lighting Designer which gave her an introduction to the wonders of theatre. She then graduated from Horn Lake High School with Special Distinction and #11 out of 214 in her class. After high school she continued her choral career by accepting a full scholarship to participate in all choral ensembles including Show Choir at Northwest Mississippi Community College. While at NWCC, she was heavily involved in the choral ensembles and the Theatre Department. Her debut performances was in the ensemble of Calvin Berger: The Musical, followed by Polly Benish in Play On! and other amazing roles that you can find in on my resume. She was also the 2019 -2020 President of the Theatre's Player's Club and Hall of Fame Recipient. After graduation, she transferred to University of Southern Mississippi to continue her studies in Theatre. Notable roles from USM would include: Cathy Haitt in The Last Five Years, Bunny in Detroit '67, Lucy Grant in Bright Star, and plenty more located on my resume.
